We've made the mistake of placing large binaries in the repository (it was a mistake, I know, but the history seems to be there forever). I came from a perforce environment and liked being able to checkout only a portion of the directory tree (not mandatory, but it was a nice feature).Mark Waitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18379371030875205412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6810754477660374002.post-3537947609767597222009-11-06T15:14:31.482-08:002009-11-06T15:14:31.482-08:00Some of GUI for Git (QGit, TortoiseGit, Git-Cheeta...Some of GUI for Git (QGit, TortoiseGit, Git-Cheetah, Git Extensions, etc.) can be found on http://git.or.cz/gitwiki/InterfacesFrontendsAndTools pageJakub Narebskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11847202568800326989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6810754477660374002.post-55345910091847472009-11-05T13:55:49.651-08:002009-11-05T13:55:49.651-08:00I've been using GIT in anger for 18+ months no...I've been using GIT in anger for 18+ months now. There are tools to work with Visual Studio. Make use of "External Tools" for some of the common commands. You can tie them to shortcuts.

If you want even more integration w/ VS, see the "GIT Extensions" project.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00624806802039000519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6810754477660374002.post-24249880401199121042009-11-05T05:43:06.047-08:002009-11-05T05:43:06.047-08:00I missed a new revision to the git kernel change v...I missed a new revision to the git kernel change volume paper. Greg Kroah Hartman's latest document (http://www.linuxfoundation.org/publications/whowriteslinux.pdf) now shows the change rate of the Linux kernel has increased even further, approaching 6 changes per hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the last 12 months of kernel development.Mark Waitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18379371030875205412noreply@blogger.com
